Production Assistant
Program: Youth at Work
Job title: Production Assistant
Employer: Société francophone de Maillardville
Place of the work: Festival du Bois/SFM Office (200 – 938 Brunette Ave, Coquitlam, BC) and Mackin Park
Duration of the work: 4 months, 35h / week (office is closed from December 25th to January 7th)
Start date: December 4th, 2023
Salary: $20, 65 / hour
Tasks:
- Communication and coordination with technical and logistical suppliers;
- Communication with artists and their representatives regarding technical and organizational requirements;
- Liaising with the city of Coquitlam, local businesses, and other key stakeholders;
- Administrative and office duties as required;
- Attend regular festival planning meetings when necessary;
- Assist the Office Manager, as needed, with the creation of spreadsheets, reports, accounts payable, file follow-up, bank reconciliation etc;
Qualifications and assets :
- Good communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment;
- Leadership, interpersonal skills and team management;
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and Excel;
- Experience in accounting and/or administration;
- Know or speak a bit of French;
- Love of arts, culture and music;
Youth at Work Program eligibility criteria:
- Be between the ages of 16 and 30;
- Reside in British Columbia;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have protected refugee status in Canada with the legal right to work in accordance with provincial legislation and regulations

Communication Assistant

- Support the communication strategy and web marketing (social medias; newsletters; press releases; website);
- Support our campaigns, projects and events (Festival du Bois and other events);
- Create social media content;
- Involvement onsite (coordination on the Festival du Bois site and other events);
- Administration support (database management and office reception);
Qualifications and assets :
- Essential Bilingualism (French / English): written and spoken;
- Completion of first-year university or college, with a focus in arts administration or communications;
- Knowledge of Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram);
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Canva and/or Adobe Suite (an asset);
- Well-organized and strong ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong interest in the Francophone culture and music;

Volunteer Coordinator

Job title: Volunteer Coordinator

Duration of the work: 4 months, 35h / week (office is closed from December 25th to January 7th)
Start date: December 4th, 2023

Tasks:
- Execute the recruitment of over 120 volunteers for the festival;
- Update the volunteer recruitment forms and online tools;
- Schedule volunteer shifts;
- Create and execute the volunteer training program;
- Maintain effective communication with all volunteers via email, phone, and social media sites;
- Supervise volunteer shifts during the festival; working closely with various festival departments to assign volunteer shifts;
- Administrative and office duties as required;
- Prepare and deliver the finial Festival Volunteer report;
- Attend regular festival planning meetings when necessary;
Qualifications and assets :
- Communication and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment;
- Detail-oriented team leader who is able to work independently;
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and Excel;
- Completion of first-year university or college, with a focus in arts administration, business or human resources;
- Know or speak a bit of French;
- Love of arts, culture and music;
