Youth Voices in Action
Your reality. Your voice. Your documentary.
In collaboration with Radio-Canada and Tri-Cities Community Television, the Société francophone de Maillardville is launching In Dialogue - Youth and Linguistic Duality, a project that gives young people the opportunity to explore their linguistic reality through documentary filmmaking.
Designed for youth aged 12 to 25, the project will help participants develop journalism and video production skills while reflecting on their experiences in an environment where multiple languages and cultures come together.
A project to tell your story
Throughout the project, participants will reflect on their own relationship with language and bilingualism. They will meet with different people in their community to gather stories, testimonies, and different perspectives.
Young participants will also be guided by professionals in journalism and audiovisual production as they learn the different steps involved in creating a documentary video capsule: preparation, interviewing, filming, and editing.
The project will conclude with a closing evening, where the completed video capsules will be presented to the public.
Two training workshops
Participants will take part in two training workshops led by industry professionals.
